Welcome to the magical, mystical, miraculous world of Reiki.
Bringing the joy of Reiki into your life will change the way you live in amazing ways and in ways that you have yet to imagine.
When I first heard about Reiki, I knew it was what I had been searching for and that it would lead me to the answers I desired. Never in my wildest imagination had I seen myself creating a Reiki program at our local hospital in Salem, Oregon and giving Reiki to critically ill cancer patients who were fighting for their lives or giving Reiki to patients as they waited to go into the operating room. No, that was not who I thought I was, but the spiritually guided wisdom of Reiki knew different. Be a teacher? No! No! No! I couldn’t be a teacher, but Reiki knew the truth. I am a teacher and Reiki is what I was born to teach.
For me, being chosen as someone’s Reiki teacher is an honor and a privilege that is sacred, and I hold that position with great reverence.
Allow me to introduce Kootenai, my furry Reiki assistant. Kootenai is an important part of my Reiki practice, both with private Reiki clients and students. She brings a level of comfort that we humans are not gifted with. Kootenai and I are a team and another example of the unexpected miracles that Reiki has provided in my life. Many times, clients or students arrive with a deep emotional pain that needs to be told for the healing they desire to occur. If they were to look me in the eye and tell their painful story their words would be lost in sobbing tears. Kootenai senses their pain and sits in front of the person while they look into her eyes and stroke her sweat little face as they tell their story. Tears may be shed, but the words are easily spoken. Kootenai let’s me know that it is time to start the Reiki session or continue with the class curriculum by gently laying her head across the client’s or student’s feet.
