Legal Requirements to Use The ICRT Logo
We upcycled our logo. The new design contains revised symbology appropriate for the transformation taking place in the world and our response to it. The outer ring with twelve pedals represents the heart chakra. The next ring with sixteen petals represents the throat chakra. The image of the Earth represents our planet including all the people and every living thing. And in the center is the Japanese kanji for Reiki. Together the revised logo represents Reiki healing and blessing all the people of the Earth and every living thing through the communication of love.
The original Logo was created in 1990 shortly after I became a Reiki Master. At that time Reiki was being taught as an oral tradition without any written material given to the students and without the students being able to take notes. I followed this method at first, but from my experience and talking with other students and teachers I was aware that because of this system, very little information was being taught, and mistakes were being made due to a lack of a written record to verify how one was to practice and teach. Because of this, I decided rather than maintain the oral tradition, it would be better to provide written material and allow students to take notes so that the accuracy of the information being taught was consistent and would contain a greater level of depth and meaning. The first manual I created was photocopied and contained about 40 pages. And it was when I produced this first manual that I was inspired to create the ICRT logo to go on the cover.
The logo remained the same until September 2025. At this time changes were taking place in the ICRT that included becoming more established in other countries around the world. This included the creation of translations of our manuals into eleven foreign languages, and this process is continuing at an increasing pace. Because of this I was inspired to modify the logo to indicate our global reach. The design of the new logo is an expression of how the energy of the ICRT is shifting into the alignment needed to address the evolving nature of our planet.
