As of October 11, 2022, Japan opened their beautiful country for the first time since the pandemic to tourists. Now in April 2023, William and Colleen are able to hold this very special Reiki class on Mt. Kurama, live, in person! We will spend 6 days immersed in Reiki energy. We stay together at a wonderful Ryokan inn at the base of Mt. Kurama. Explore and experience the spiritual energy of Mt. Kurama, where Mikao Usui received the gift of Reiki, receive your Reiki Ignitions in this extraordinary place, learn and share Reiki with a small group of students with William and Colleen as teachers, and stay 6 nights in a traditional Japanese Ryokan Inn at the base of Mt. Kurama and experience Kaiseki cuisine prepared by an expert chef. The classes are small and space is limited, so register soon and join William and Colleen for this extraordinary Reiki experience!

This six-day training will include the first day to arrive and check in to your room, followed by a free day to explore the mountain on your own. The four class days will include some time in the classroom and on the mountain including one or more Ignitions on the mountain if weather and conditions permit. The last day is for check out. However, you are required to check in on Saturday, April 8. We also recommend that to adjust for jet lag, you arrive in Japan at least 3 days before the class starts.

Class fee $3820
The fee includes the class fee along with lodging and food for 6 nights.  You will also need to add the expenses for your round-trip airline ticket fee to either Tokyo Narita International airport, or Osaka Kansai International airport and all other travel fees such as taxi, bus and train or bus fares to Kurama. You must also have a valid passport and any other required travel documents. We will be supplying some travel instructions, but you are responsible for making and verifying all your travel arrangements on your own.

A World Peace Crystal Grid has been accepted by the Buddhist Monks who live on the mountain, and they have placed it in a sacred part of one of their temples on the mountain! They have a kind regard toward the healing work we do. The Kuramasou lodge where students will be staying and where the classroom is located is close to the train station in Kurama village and in fact it is right around the corner after you leave the station. Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be served there to all students; lunch may sometime be a box lunch. Also, you will not need a car or transportation as the entrance to Kurama Yama is only a block away from the lodge which is less than a block from the train terminal.

Sugako San, the proprietor of the lodge says, “This is a Ryokan Inn, which is slightly different than a hotel and is unique to Japan. Dinner is a showcase of Japan Ryokan. The lodge dinner cuisine is called kaiseki-ryōri which is highly valued in Japan. The chef examines all seasonal ingredients to deliver the gems of flavor and fragrance within.” William says, “I have to tell you it is by far the best food I have ever eaten” Dinner is a multi-course meal with each course served one at a time. Each course is prepared with great care; attention is given to the mixture of flavors and textures of the food, the nutritional value, and the artistic appearance. Kurama Village is a small traditional Japanese community. The lodging for the class is a traditional Ryokan Inn. It has traditional Japanese rooms with the traditional tatami mats on the floor to sleep on. The rooms are all shared rooms; there are no single or private rooms available for this trip. We found the rooms and the mats (which are like futons) to be very comfortable. In fact, more comfortable than hotels we stayed in.

Reiki Requirements
You must have taken Reiki II 6 months or more prior to the date of the class. In addition, during this time you need to have practiced and developed a functional level of skill with each of the exercises. Skill with Byosen scanning, Reiji ho, use of the Reiki symbols and experience giving full Reiki sessions is necessary.

Physical Requirements
One requirement is that you must be in good physical condition. There is a 1200-foot elevation gain between the lodge and the top of the mountain. While there is an optional cable car that will take you up part way, there will still be a climb of about 800 feet elevation to get from the end of the cable car ride to the top of the mountain. Most of this is via stairs and there are places to stop to rest. If you are to get to the top in a reasonable time and feel good when you get there, you need to be involved in an aerobic exercise program that includes stairs to make sure your legs are in good shape. The hike from the end of the cable car ride to the top of the mountain is similar to climbing up the stairs of an 80-story building. Just so you understand, this is a very tall building. (As an example, the Empire State Building in NYC is 102 flights of stairs.) And this is done in about an hour. It would be unfortunate for you to travel all that way and then not be able to get to the mountain top location in time to take part in the Ignitions, class time and Reiki sharing activity, all of which are required for you to complete the class and receive a certificate.

Taniai Village Event
On April 15, 2023, William, Colleen and Lena Takahashi are traveling to Taniai Village, Usui’s birthplace. We will ride together on a chartered bus to Taniai Village where we will attend a traditional ceremony officiated by a Shinto priest, see the Torii gate donated by Usui and his brothers 100 years ago, see the Usui Memorial, go to lunch, join a Reiki share with the members of the Taniai Reiki Organization and take the bus back to Kyoto that evening.

This is an additional event after our Reiki class hosted by Lena Takahashi. Reiki students from this class are invited to attend. There is additional travel and cost for this event. You will still need to check out of Kuramasou on the 14th. You may possibly stay in a hotel in Kyoto if you plan to attend. Learn more...

This is the Reiki class of a lifetime

Sincerely,

William Lee Rand
