Since the article Reiki In Hospitals appeared several
years ago in the Reiki News, there has been a significant
increase in the number of hospitals where Reiki treatments
are offered. This has been brought about as much by those
who have been working to bring Reiki into hospitals as by
patients who are requesting it.
There are now hundreds of individuals as well as some organizations
who are providing Reiki treatments to patients in hospitals.
Some have done an exceptional job and have worked closely
with the hospital administration to create protocols, guidelines
and ethics that allow Reiki to be practiced in a way where
the hospital, the practitioners and the patients are all happy.
This is a wonderful achievement and a sign of the times. Integrative
medicine is now the wave of the future and many hospitals
are seeking help in getting a program started. At the same
time, there are many Reiki practitioners who would like to
get Reiki treatments started in a hospital or clinic and could
benefit from the experience of those who have already been
successful.
The purpose of this support group is to connect people who
are practicing Reiki in a hospital or clinical setting or
would like to start so they can share experiences and support
each other in this effort. The direction this is going in
indicates that national standards for Reiki and all integrative
modalities are becoming an important topic. How this is guided
and by whom is something Reiki people need to be part of so
that Reiki like solutions are created where everyone wins.
My sense is that this is possible as long as we are aware
of each others work and join together to protect the value
Reiki can provide to everyone.
By filling out a questionnaire, your name and information
will be added to the reports that will appear on this site
including:
1) A roster of all those doing Reiki
in hospitals.
2) A list of all hospitals where Reiki is practiced including
important details.
3) A list of all Reiki research, both completed and in process.
In addition, articles on how to get Reiki started in a hospital
or clinic and other helpful information will be included.
This service is free at this time and a national Reiki membership
organization may develop out of it.
If you are currently giving Reiki treatments in a hospital
or clinic or if you would like to start, you are eligible
to join this support group. All you have to do is fill in
the questionnaire that will be available when we formally
announce this site, so we can better understand your situation
and provide the support you need.
Enter your email address above so we can send you an announcement
when this site has been completed and is available for use.
