Kathie Lipinski, RN, MSN

Master Teacher of Usui Reiki

Kathie Lipinski, RN, MSN is a Master Teacher of both Karuna Reiki® and Usui Reiki. She is also a Healing Touch Practitioner and Nationally Certified Massage Therapist.

Kathie has eight years experience working with Reiki and other energy based healing techniques. Kathie has a private practice "Healing from the Heart", where she uses various energy-based healing techniques, clairvoyance, intuitive counseling, visualization and guided imagery to help individuals identify and heal physical and emotional issues in their lives.

Kathie's Story

Kathie was born and raised in New York and received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Hunter-Bellevue School of Nursing in New York City in 1974. She worked at Franklin General Hospital in Valley Stream for 12 years. Her roles included Charge Nurse and Head Nurse of Intensive Care, Critical Care Supervisor, Nursing Office Administration, and Diabetes Nurse Educator. After leaving the hospital setting, Kathie completed her Master's Degree in Nursing from Adelphi University in 1986. She also went into private practice as a Diabetes Nurse Educator until 1990, when she moved to Louisville, KY. Her inner voice guided her and her husband Bob to say "yes" when he had a job opportunity too good to refuse. At first, Kathie thought that the move to KY was for her husband and his career.

What in fact happened, was that Kathie found a wonderful metaphysical community where she was introduced to Healing Touch and then to Reiki. She completed her Reiki training in 1992 and was guided to enroll in massage school in 1993, so that she could offer traditional healing therapies as well as complementary therapies to her clients. Reiki transformed her life and her traditional nursing career and after completing Reiki II, she noticed that her ability to "see" clairvoyantly began to blossom. This ability guided and became a part of her practice.

As she continued in her Reiki training, becoming a Master Teacher in December of 1994, her clairvoyant abilities increased. Reiki guided her practice to include regressions and emotional healing. Soon after, Reiki also guided her to enter the Licensed Teacher program at the International Center for Reiki Training. The joy of teaching Reiki extended to becoming a teacher at the Louisville School of Massage. Kathie shared her Reiki knowledge with many of the students, and they in turn studied with Kathie to become Reiki practitioners. The combination of Reiki in massage, gave skeptics a way to comfortably receive healing energies.

While living in Louisville, Kathie also wrote for the local metaphysical newsletters, and lectured to various groups on the healing powers of Reiki and other complementary therapies. She also met and became good friends with Laurelle Gaia, and together they founded "United in Healing," a group of Reiki practitioners dedicated to spreading the word about Reiki and working together to create a harmonious Reiki community.

Reiki has since guided Kathie and her family, to move back to Long Island, New York. This past August, Kathie taught Reiki I at Stony Brook Nursing School. The group consisted mostly of Nurse Practitioners-those in advanced nursing practice. This was an approved college course and the nurses received one credit for attending the class. Kathie now resides in Massapequa, and can be reached through the International Center for Reiki Training.
