Reiki Stories
Doctor Uses Reiki
I’m a 30-year-old medical doctor from Romania,
and I have two healing stories I would like to share with you.The
first one is about a young woman (22 years old) who just ran away
from the hospital because she was very afraid of the surgical intervention
the doctors wanted to perform on her, in order to remove the 7-cm
cyst (confirmed on an ultrasonography) on her right ovary. She contacted
me on the telephone (she heard about me from a friend); fortunately
for her, I was available, and I went to her that very evening. She
was lying in her bed, with her boyfriend and the family gathered
around her, and she was having a very intense pain in her right
lower abdomen... she was hemorrhaging and was feeling really ill...
At that time I had a pretty good perception of the aura, and I saw
a hole in her right lower abdomen, about at the location of her
right ovary, through which her energy was leaking. The rupture was
caused by an energetic aggression of some kind in her aura. That’s
where she was having the pain, she told me. So I started the first
healing session using distant Reiki, not hands-on, from classical
Reiki and from Karuna Reiki® and Seichim - over the "diseased"
area, and over her entire organism. After one hour and 5 minutes,
the area where she had the pain was literally "numb" (she
described it exactly like that) - she did not feel the pain anymore
- and she got off her bed and asked for something to eat.In the
following days I performed another 2 (shorter) healing sessions
(she was already feeling much better), and after that her doctor
saw on the ultrasonography that the 7-cm cyst was completely gone!
The second one was a case closer to me - someone in
my family was having intense abdominal pains and severediarrhea
that day (probably an alimentary intoxication from spoiled aliments).
She took some medication, but to no avail... and finally, at 10
o’clock in the evening, she called me and asked me to help her.
So I asked her to sit down in an armchair, and instructed her how
to relax and breathe calmly, with her eyes closed. I began passing
her symbols (mainly, power symbols and calming ones) - and after
30 minutes her abdominal pain was gone, and she went to bed and
slept soundly that night. The next day all the trouble was gone.
As a doctor, and as a holistic medicine practitioner, I believe
Reiki can be one of the many powerful healing systems - too good
to be described even in many, many words - and I am opened to dialogues
and sharing experiences with others.

Reiki Heals Infection
A friend of mine went into the hospital for some reconstructive
surgery due to breast cancer. After a couple of weeks, I saw her
husband and inquired about her health. He was devastated and told
me that she had developed a severe infection and had been running
a fever of 104 degrees for several days and the doctors did not
know where it was coming from. He said they believed her organs
could begin to shutdown. I asked permission to visit her the next
day, which he later called to tell me she accepted, and I began
to send Reiki to her immediately. Upon my arrival the next morning,
she looked wonderful! I asked her how she was and
she said it was amazing. She woke up that morning and her temperature
was completely normal. She felt great! The doctors had no explanation
for her healing. She then asked me to explain Reiki to her and before
I had finished, she took my hands and placed them on the site of
her infection, closed her eyes and said, "Just do it."
My friend is now home recuperating with her family. I thank God
everyday for her health and this beautiful gift of Reiki. Kathleen
Gaining Acceptance
I have a small donation-only Reiki practice
in a regional hospital in South Australia. Recently I encountered
stiff opposition and downright prejudice from a visiting Specialist
at the hospital; he abused me, threatened me and questioned the
fact that I practice a healing modality in a hospital! He was very
rude and I felt sad, angry, frightened and disappointed at his aggressive
attitude. When I got home, and for several days after, I sent Reiki’s
distant healing to him, trying to be unconditional and non-judgmental.
Imagine my surprise and pleasure when, the next time we met, he
was so friendly and talkative! The power of Reiki (unconditional
Love) is truly amazing. Every time this doctor and I meet now he’s
always friendly, helpful and he’s even referred one of his patients
to me! This mode of healing (distant healing) is one of unconditional
love towards another human being. When it is used to its full capacity
its power is awesome. We should all read into this a message:"Love

Distant Healing Works!
I had the most remarkable experience when I offered to do regular
distant healing on a friend who was moving to the other side of
the world. I had been giving him daily Reiki session for malignant
spots on his back, caused by medicine he had taken to stop an artificial
kidney being rejected. These sessions had been very strong and an
enormous amount of heat had flowed from my hands. When he had to
go away, we arranged that the sessions would continue at 1 PM. his
time. After each session he would e-mail me and tell me exactly
when I had started (perhaps five minutes past the hour), when I
had finished and mentioned if he thought I had been interrupted
and therefore had to begin again. He was always absolutely accurate.
After a couple of weeks, I suggested that I programme the sessions
to come on at the same time. He agreed and would e-mail me to say
that the heat came through just the same. Then one day I received
an e-mail complaining that nothing had happened. I e-mailed back
saying that that was because I had only done the programming for
14 days and it was the 15th day! To me, this was complete

Tinnitus
I have been doing Reiki II for 11 years now but recently I had one
of my more profound experiences. An acquaintance that had been suffering
from Tinnitus (a ringing sound in the ears) for several years came
for a session. He had heard of Reiki but had never tried it and
soon after beginning, he said he had an uncomfortable pressure in
the centre of his head. At this point I asked him to imagine a doorway
in the front of his forehead and to open it. His whole body shuddered
as most of the pressure flew out of that chakra. Then I asked him
to open a doorway in the top of his head at which point the remaining
pressure also departed. For the remainder of the Reiki he had out
of body experiences and was astounded by the experience, as I was
also. When he left that day the Tinnitus had completely dissipated.
I felt that perhaps it might return slightly which it has to about
10% of the original level. However there is virtually nodisco mfort
now and he is certain that further Reiki treatments will completely

Heart Healed
On 23 October, 2001, my 60th Birthday, I had a heart
attack. A few days later after an angiogram showed severe blockages
requiring 5 by-passes and lots of scaring from previous heart attacks
which I didn’t know I had. Between 23 October 2001 and 10 December
2001, when I was opened up to get the By Passes, The surgeon noted
that my heart had healed itself as the scaring was not there. Now
when I asked how things were inside me the next day the surgeon
told me the news. My girlfriend and I couldn’t believe what he said.
But we were very happy about that as on the 1st Thursday
of November I returned to where I had learned my Reiki that night
10 people gave me a joint healing for ½ hour and again the following
week, (there wasn’t much room for any more hands). Add on to that
what my friend and I did I sure copped heaps of Reiki. I am convinced
that it was Reiki that did the trick. I have since had the scaring
re-checked from another angiogram and when I received two Stints
into one of the new grafts as it had become blocked. Believe me,
with what I have been through this news convinced me that Reiki
is no scam. I am a true believer and I am now back to walking 3-4
miles every 2nd day in one hour. I will soon be doing
my Masters and I will be out there spreading the power of Reiki

Preventing Surgery
I am a RN at a major city hospital. Last week I had a patient who
had an IV that came out of the vein and all the IV fluid went into
the surrounding tissue, causing severe swelling. When I took over
this patient, her arm was so swollen that the doctors were planning
to take her to the OR to relieve the pressure with surgery. She
was having excruciating pain, but the doctors refused to give her
pain medications, because they didn’t want to mask the pain. I did
Reiki on her a few times through the night. The Reiki not only relieved
the pain, but her swelling was decreased by 90% by the end of my
shift. The doctors couldn’t believe it. Barbara Costa
Reiki Helps Chemotherapy Patient
A very active 81-year-old member of our church got bile duct cancer
and decided to accept chemotherapy after surgery. She had been a
nurse so I asked her if she knew about Therapeutic Touch and Reiki.
She not only knew about them but also allowed me to visit her every
week from Thanksgiving 2000 until she died in Sept.2002 to do a
session. She said she would always sleep for a while after our sessions,
then be free of chemotherapy side effects like nausea and vomiting
until the next treatment, and I would go to do another session.
Her daughter has told me how much the sessions meant to her mother.

I Love Reiki!
My name is Clementine. I have heard of Reiki
for a very long time but did not really do anything about it. Recently
I read a great book by two great ladies: Words From Heavens
by Eve Barbieri and Romayne de Kanter. They also perform Reiki and
as I did not have money to go and pay for a session here, I asked
them to do a distant healing for me, and it has been working. I
have been feeling this tingling warm feeling and asked them and
they said it is Reiki. Their site linked me to yours and I have
been getting so much information! I have promised myself that as
soon as the Universe provides the means for me I will start level
1 and 2 of Reiki. I have already located the place and I am really
looking forward to doing this. It is so exciting. And I think I
should mention that all the time I was on your site I WAS RECEIVING
HEALING probably from the two ladies or from the strong energy of
love providing from your site. Thank you very much for the Great

Reiki and the Unbeliever
I began learning Reiki some two years ago, initially my parents
were both very skeptical. My father has been suffering from knee
problems for many years due he thought to an injury received in
a parachute jump. He asked me to do Reiki on his knee as he had
found that after it flared up again he had been to the doctor and
told they couldn’t find a major problem which left him at a loss
to what was wrong with his knee.
I sat on the floor and he sat in a chair and I gave Reiki just on
his knee for the first session. During the treatment my dad fell
asleep and on waking him after the Reiki he said it was the
best sleep he had had in many years and he was only asleep for about
an hour. During the treatment I picked up that he seemed to have
a blockage in his heart centre and solar plexus. I
explained to him I felt the knee injury to be part of his bodies
way of warning him of stress as it seemed he was in pain when stressed
or dealing with emotional difficulty. He was skeptical about the
Reiki but on contacting him the next day he said the pain had gone
completely and he felt very well. I suggested he keep track of when
the pain arrived and see if he could relate it to his emotions.
Again the pain returned to his knee - I gave him Reiki but this
time a full treatment so his chakra areas were treated also. Many
months later my parents have decided to emigrate and my dad agrees
since making this decision his knee has stopped giving him any trouble.
He feels the Reiki helped him to come to a decision to live for
himself and his wife and with this new emotional choice the old
pain or reminder has gone.
My Dad will go from skeptic to Reiki 1 as I am due to attune both
my parents in July when I have my masters. They will be the first
I attune. Just thought you should all know the power Reiki has as
well as bringing pain relief it heals on all levels and helps you
to achieve the goals you should be achieving. Love

Preparation for first Reiki Class Strengthens My
Reiki
I write this to you to encourage everyone who is a practitioner
to become a teacher. I am a Reiki Level IV Master. Preparing for
my first Reiki training was an amazing experience for me. I spent
weeks-gathering information, creating a manual and brushing up on
my historical Reiki facts. I planned to teach a weekend retreat
in the mountains.
Before heading up to the mountains my husband and I stopped for
dinner at his father’s house. Now, mind you, my husband and I are
the "weird" ones in the family. We work with energy and
that is pretty much the extent of their interest and knowledge in
what we do. My husband’s niece was a sophomore in high school at
the time. She had no idea what Reiki was but when I told her I was
going to teach a class involving energy she asked if she could try
it out.
My answer, of course, was that I was honored to share the energy
with her. She laid down in a room while I flowed the Reiki energy
to her. My husband (who was to be one of my students) was sitting
behind me. Preparing for the class had strengthened my connection
with the Reiki energy more than I thought possible. My husband was
blasted from the energy and so was she. She began to smile so I
asked her why she was smiling. She said that with her eyes closed,
she could see colors - purple and green and blue swirling around.
Later, she laughed out loud. Again I asked her what she was experiencing.
She said that she could see a little Buddha man floating in a legs-crossed
position in front of her just smiling at her. This REALLY blew me
away! She did not know what Reiki energy was and she didn’t know
its origins either! She also had the experience of floating, something
she liked very much. I believe that the learning/teaching process
truly connects us and I encourage everyone to teach at least one

Powerful Reiki
I have only taken the first Reiki class and received the first atonement.
I am so shocked at the results that I achieve when doing Reiki to
myself. It is so very strong I can watch it adjust my knee that
tends to turn in when I walk. Adjust my spine and watch it go to
different organs in my body and energize them. I have a hard time
controlling it at times. It will just start like when I am driving
in the car and it will adjust my shoulders or if I have been sitting
at the computer too long. It just starts all by itself. Once while
I was at my therapist’s I got into a very upsetting subject and
I just started to go through my body to calm me down. It was a little
hard to explain to the therapist. Also once when I was hospitalized
for pneumonia. It started on my heart while undergoing an EKG, which
they had to repeat, and could not explain the original results.

Dog Healed
Two and a half years ago we bought a new German Shepherd pup. We
had lost our elderly shepherds the previous autumn and needed a
new doggy companion. Stella was a gorgeous, black and tan, long-haired
Shepherd with intense eyes and a lot of confidence! She thrived
until, at 13 weeks, she suddenly began to trip up and falls over
a lot. My husband is a doctor and was very concerned about what
he saw as serious neurological problems. Our vet immediately referred
her to Glasgow Vet School, which has a professor of neurology. She
was scanned - by this time she could not get up or move, except
wag her tail - and it was discovered that she had hydrocephalus
and cringe myelin (increased pressure in the spinal cord). They
had no idea what could have caused it, but were certain it was going
to be fatal. No other dog had survived such damage. They offered
to put her to sleep, but we brought her home, so that our own vet
(who is just wonderful) could do it in our garden. They assured
us that she was in no pain and would probably just slip away on
her own. She was very calm and, when I looked into her eyes, I felt
she was what you would call an "old soul". She gave off
a feeling of wisdom and serenity you wouldn’t expect in a young
pup. What happened next was very strange indeed: our vet was not
available for another three days - away on a course, so I took time
off work and stayed with Stella, constantly giving her Reiki. It
was a very emotional time - I did meditations with her and gave
her permission to leave, if it was what was meant to be. I thanked
her for the short time she was here and for all the joy she’d brought
us. Two days into this, she struggled to her feet and made it outside
for a pee! We were amazed - and delighted. By the time our vet arrived
the next day, she met him at the door. He was astounded, as he had
the Vet School’s medical report with him, which was bleak to say
the least. We all agreed to leave things be and see what happened.
He kept in touch with the Vet School - who maintained that it was
a "temporary blip" and that she would definitely die soon.
Almost three years on and Stella is still with us! She has gone
from strength to strength and goes long walks up our hills with
us every day. We have three other dogs now and Stella is definitely
the boss! Physically, she is a bit twisty, with a scoliosis and
one weak front leg, but with the splint my husband built for her,
she can keep up with anyone. She’s a bit of a celebrity at the Vet
School and they have even videoed her for training purposes. They
were a bit skeptical about my Reiki input, but my own vet was completely
won over and now refers animals to me regularly! Nowadays, when
I run Reiki courses at home, Stella always likes to have some input
- Her favorite is to join in on meditation circles! She really is
a special soul and has taught us a lot. The obvious lesson is that
you can be "disabled" and still be beautiful and live
a life with quality and fulfillment. I felt the turning point was
when I offered her my unconditional love and was prepared to let
her go - if that was what was her path. She chose to stick around

Reiki With Children
On different occasions my grandsons would be
in the room with me when I have done Reiki on my daughters. My oldest
grandson who is eight lives with my daughter across the street.
The younger one who is six is my son’s son and he lives with his
mother. My son gets him every other weekend. Since I have a full
size bed he sleeps with me when he is over.Well the boys after seeing
what I did and how peaceful and relaxed my daughters were after
a session would ask me to do it to them, but it would be too late
at night and I would have to refuse. One weekend after I received
my second level my six year old comes over and says to me "Mom-Mom
can you put your hands on me tonight?" At first for the life
of me I could not figure out what he was talking about. Then a voice
popped into my head and said Reiki. This was on a Friday night.
The hour was late and we both were tired so we both went to sleep.The
following night my grandson was highly upset with me because I didn’t
put my hands on him, as he put it.So I sat Indian style on my bed
and had my ankles cradle his head and I proceeded to start. Well
by the time I got to his heart he was in a dead sound sleep. I finished
the session. After I was finished I could not get him to wake up.
I had to slide him by his arms to his side of the bed. And he still
didn’t wake up.The next morning and the rest of the weekend all
he kept saying was Mom-Mom you have to put your hands on me again
the next time I come over. I asked him what did he feel when I did
that with my hands? He said I don’t know how to tell you only that
it feels real good. So at least some night during the course of
the weekend I put my hands on him (as he so lovingly phrases it),
and it is always the same, he falls dead asleep by the time I get
to his fourth chakra.Well a few weekends ago I had both my grandsons
staying with me. On previous occasions I had asked the eight year
old if he wanted me to do it to him since I see him more often living
right across the street, but he refused. So like every time I have
the six-year-old he asked me to put my hands on him, so I did. Because
of the older one being there this time he didn’t fall asleep. Which
was good for me since the six year old is twice as big as the eight-year-old.After
I was done the eight-year-old finally decided I could do Reiki on
him. He went into such a deep meditative state that a few times
I checked to see if he was still breathing. After I was finished
he just laid there looking up at the ceiling. I asked him if he
was all right, and he said "Mom-Mom I feel all tingley up and
down." I smiled and said that was a good thing. Awhile later
after the boys got done with their ritual of rough housing with
each other before they go to sleep the older one told me his left
ankle hurt so I told him to come sit next to me on the bed. I didn’t
even have my hands on his ankle and foot two seconds when he slumped
over on me completely out of it. I did his other foot too then gently
touched his face to bring him out of it.I had to laugh at him because
he was walking around the room on
his tippy toes. I asked him what was wrong. He said his ankle was
all-better but his feet were all tingley and he was afraid to walk
on them.So now I have two little boys running around saying Mom-Mom
will you put your hands on me tonight. That’s all fine and good,
but you should see the looks I get from people if they say that
to me when we are out in public. Terry
Collarbone Grows Back
I’m so glad to have the opportunity to share this wonderful story
of the transformative power of Reiki. I am a practicing occupational
therapist and have a private Reiki practice in my spare time. Eighteen
months ago, my neighbor’s 14-year-old son was badly hurt in a motorbike
accident. He severely fractured his collarbone, so that it could
not be surgically repaired. A 3.5-inch section of it had to be removed.
Naturally, the orthopedic surgeon told him and his parents that
it would never grow back and he would have a dysfunctional shoulder
and arm for the rest of his life. I concurred with this from my
experience as a therapist, but offered to do Reiki to speed up the
healing of the incision and the general trauma. I gave him two treatments
per week over 6 weeks. Just before his 6 week follow-up with the
surgeon, he said "There’s something hard here (pointing to
his incision). What do you think it is?" I said it was just
scar tissue since that was all I thought it could be. He had a x-ray
later that day, and the surgeon incredulously announced that he
now had a new-collar bone! The doctor could think of no explanation
for this. I was equally amazed, since I know that the average simple
fracture takes 6 weeks just to mend itself.
I asked to see the "before" and "after" x-rays
and they were indisputable. (I also saw the removed section of the
original collarbone that the boy kept as a souvenir in his freezer.)
Since then I have obtained copies of these x-rays and show them
at all my classes and have presented them to various medical committees
at the hospital, in support of Reiki. These x-rays have done a lot
to validate to the medical profession, the effects of Reiki. Since
my presentations, the local hospital (publicly funded, as all hospitals
are in Canada) has agreed to let me start a 6-month pilot project
to provide Reiki on the palliative care unit.
I strongly urge Reiki practitioners to gather information such as
x-rays, blood tests, etc., whenever they show significant changes
after Reiki intervention. It will really help in making this form

Severe Injuries
Hi. My story is very simple, and starts about
three months ago, on the island of lanzarote when a young boy of
15 years old was on a motor bike. He was hit going around a roundabout
at night. His injuries were both legs and both arms broken, both
lungs punctured and then one lung removed, part of his liver removed,
fractured neck, and he was on a life support machine. The doctors
gave him a 5% chance of living.
Three days after the accident I sent out requests for Reiki on the
Internet, and I set up a Reiki circle here in lanzarote. I went
into all the bars along the front and asked that on the following
Sunday at 8 o’clock if everyone could light a candle and send out
some nice thought that we maybe able to help. The following week
he came off the machine, two weeks later he was transferred back
to lanzarote and out of danger. A further week later he was out
of the hospital all-together, and three months down the line he
is up and about 95% back to normal. So he went from a 5% chance
to live to 95% heale in three months. I wanted to finish by saying
thank you to all the Reiki healers out there that sent out healing,

Back from Coma
My brother suddenly got ill one evening and passed out. He wasaspirated
and was rushed to the hospital. He was transferred to hospital (45
minutes by ambulance) during this ride his blood oxygen levels dropped
in the area that causes brain damage. He went into a coma. The first
neurosurgeon indicatedthat there was probably little hope. His pupils
were fixed and dilated. He had none of the normal reflexes. At one
point his eyes rolled upwards.
I had met a wonderful young lady who had warm hands from a very
young age. She introduced me to Reiki. I brought her to the hospital
hoping to get her in his room. Of course they would only allow family
members. I was a level I Reiki student so I did the best I could
trying not to look to obvious, although there were tubes and wires
everywhere. I touched his crown and elbow. The next day my girlfriend
called the ER waiting room hoping to speak with me. By mistake they
patched her through to my brother’s room and he answered the phone!
He has since made a complete recovery! Thanks! Paul S.
Reiki Heals Baby in Hospital
I recently was called to a local hospital to perform Reiki on a
one-year-old baby who was very ill with chronic vomiting. On a Saturday,
I did Reiki on the baby and on his mother and was guided to do a
Reiki attunement on both baby and mother so that the mother could
give the baby Reiki frequently and so the baby would be more open
to receiving Reiki.
The baby had a procedure done under anesthesia on Monday. I called
to check on the baby and his mother reported that he wasn’t coming
out of anesthesia and that his heart rate was up to 230 (normal
is 141 for his age) and his oxygen level was 91 (100 is normal).
There was a nurse in the room monitoring him and he was attached
to some machines that took these readings. They were considering
moving him to intensive care.
I told the mother I had ½ hour to work on him from a distance since
one of my clients had rescheduled. I scanned him and found blockages
in his head, lungs, abdomen, and leg. I did Aura Clearing and then
sent him distance Reiki for 30 minutes. Then I called back to see
how he was doing. His mother reported that his heart rate had dropped
to 150 and his oxygen level had risen to 96. She said the nurses
were amazed as they watched the numbers change on the monitors.
A couple more nurses came in to see what was happening. As I spoke
with the mother, the numbers continued to improve after I quit sending
Reiki. She reported that the baby had been given the anesthesia
in his leg and it was thought the needle pulled out of the correct
placement and was putting anesthesia into his tissue, which was
why he wasn’t coming out of the anesthesia. She was amazed that
I found the block in his leg when I did the scanning.
His mother continues to give him daily Reiki and is now taking my
Reiki classes. I am thankful to God for this wonderful demonstration
of the power of Reiki in a quantitative way. May Reiki bless more
