FREE International Center For Reiki Training Home Page The Joy of Christmas by William Lee Rand When any event takes place on the planet that involves a large number of people, this joining together of minds has an effect on the auric field of the earth and creates a powerful kind of magnetic consciousness that can affect all of us on a soul level. This effect is especially important when it involves a sacred celebration such as Christmas as it allows us to connect more deeply with that part of ourselves that is sacred and also to see this sacred part in others. This possibility is present now, but to really experience it, we need to take the time to slow down, to meditate and to allow this feeling to come welling up into our everyday lives. As we do this, the nurturing, healing energy we experience can have such a high vibration that we are awakened to an awareness that goes beyond any outer expression and allows us to experience our true spiritual nature. So during this Christmas season when there is so much change and uncertainty in the world, it is important for us to focus on these highest feelings of love and healing; to feel them within ourselves and to express them to others and to the whole world. We are so fortunate to be here on the planet now and to have such a valuable and sacred skill as Reiki. So I encourage you to take time to celebrate Christmas by sending Reiki into the world to everyone on the planet. As you do so, meditate on the spirit of Christmas and on the global consciousness that is being created by all the other spiritual beings on the planet. As we merge with this higher consciousness, a synergy is created that greatly multiplies the good we are sending out as well as the good we receive. May you be deeply blessed by the spirit of Christmas and experience peace on earth as you experience it within your own heart. The Birth

Pope John Paul II has invited the leaders of all religions to Assisi to pray for world peace on January 24. This is an important event and indicates increasing acceptance of the idea that each religion needs to respect the value of all other religions if we are to bring peace to the planet. This concept is what is promoted by the World Peace Crystal Grids that were placed at the North and South Poles. I am happy to see that the value of this idea is shared by others and is being acted on. Please mark your calendars and set aside some special time to send Reiki for world peace on January 24. By joining with so many other spiritual people from so many different religious and spiritual backgrounds, a synergistic effect is created that greatly multiplies the healing that takes place. This is a momentous event, and a great opportunity for all of us to make a meaningful difference. Please join us. Afghan Children Update by William Lee Rand Last issue I included an article on the plight of the Afghan children. One in every two children there is malnourished and one in every four was likely to die of preventable causes. At that point it was predicted that up to 400,000 children would die this winter of cold and malnutrition unless aid was received. While aid efforts were in place, the Taliban were interfering with the process by taking some of the food to give to their troops and also confiscating some transport vehicles as well as threatening the aid workers. This created a very difficult and desperate situation. I requested that you send Reiki and also send donations to help prevent a disaster. I am happy to report that all the Reiki you have sent along with your donations are making a difference. The situation is shifting! The Taliban are no longer in power and shipments of aid are no longer being blocked or restricted. Hundreds of millions of dollars have been donated and the US government is adding tremendous support to the aid effort. Relief agencies now say they are closer to meeting the need for food and shelter for most of those in need and report that if aid continues to be sent, it is possible that basic needs just might be met. This is a wonderful turn of events and demonstrates how prayers and Reiki backed by action can take a potential calamity and turn it into a miracle of love and caring. I appreciate your willingness to help the Afghan people and especially the children. While conditions appear to be improving, there is still a great amount of suffering taking place. It is important that we continue to send help. So please continue to send Reiki and to make donations if you feel it in your heart to do so. Below are two aid organizations I recommend. To make a donation Help the Afghan Children USA Today Article Global Consciousness Is Being Measured by William Lee Rand A team of researchers headed by Roger Nelson of Princeton University has been conducting an experiment to measure the effects of focused global consciousness on random events. They have had some very interesting results. Called the Global Consciousness Project, their experiment involves the use of 37 computers located around the world using random number generators to flip virtual coins. The experiment has been going on since 1998. Each computer flips 200 virtual coins at a time and the results of all computers are compared. The results are usually completely random with the virtual coin tosses come up heads or tails 50% of the time. However, when a global event takes place that focuses the attention of billions of people, the randomness of the coin tosses changes and they tend to go significantly more one way than another. In other words they become more coherent or non-random. This took place on September 11 when so many people worldwide were focused on the events of the World Trade Center disaster. This produced the strongest effect so far, but other events have coincided with changes in randomness too, including: each New Years Eve, the papal visti to Israel, the first hour of NATO bombing in Yugoslavia, a variety of global meditations, several major earthquakes, the funeral for Princess Diana and last years sinking of Russia’s Kursk submarine. This seems to indicate that consciousness has an effect on other wise random events. This is a profound scientific discovery as it tends to validate the basis of Reiki and other forms of spiritual healing. Of course anyone who has sent distant Reiki knows this is true from personal experience, but it is important that science is discovering ways to measure these effects. As more attention is focused on scientific studies of this type, they are bound to motivate larger groups of people to use Reiki and other kinds of healing. It is also possible that a better understanding of healing and prayer will develop. This is an important indication that a paradym shift is taking place which will usher in the age of consciousness which I have previously written about in "The Spirit of Reiki." Any scientific method that demonstrates a measureable connection between the mind and events in the physical world is revolutionary in nature and worthy of further study . of Massage this morning, Rev. Timothous L. Seaton, Utah Reiki Alliance, http:// www.utahreiki.org Here is a recipe that will help you celebrate the holiday season! Amazingly good and good for you, these brownies are so good; most people will not know they don’t contain sugar or chocolate. Great for kids and adults, they satisfy ones need for something sweet and are nutritious at the same time. Stevia is a natural non-sugar sweetener that contains no calories. It is 50 times sweeter than sugar. Rather than placing a strain on ones pancreas and other organs and possibly causing hypoglycemia, Stevia strengthens the pancreas, kidneys and heart. Both Stevia and carob can be found at health food stores. To learn more about Stevia I suggest reading “The Stevia Cookbook” by Ray Sahelian, M.D. and Donna Gates. Ingredients Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Assemble all ingredients in one area and give Reiki or healing energy for five minutes. Continue to give Reiki as you mix, and prepare. You can also send Reiki during the baking process. Beat egg yolks and add Stevia, oil, coffee substitute, vanilla and soymilk, mixing well. Mix flour, carob and salt. Pour wet mixture into
dry, mixing thoroughly. Mix in nuts. Bake for 45 minutes. One of the blessings I count in my life is my work with a local Prison and Reiki. About a year ago I was invited into a county facility here in Western Mass. We did a few introductory workshops and a Reiki Pilot Program took off from there. We’ve held three classes thus far for the inmates and the changes taking place are incredible. The men work on themselves regularly for stress reduction, anger issues and relaxation; they also began working on others in their community and have been given permission to enter other inmates’ rooms for private sessions. Previously, they were not allowed into others private areas. One of the students has even put a proposal together for a weekly Reiki Clinic he hopes to start soon for the inmates. The men are quick to say they were somewhat skeptical in the beginning but have come to be believers in Reiki. This in turn, seems to be impressing the staff at the jail – so much so, that the Sheriff himself is planning to schedule a session with one of the Reiki practitioners! Diane Gore-Uecker Dear William: I want to extend my thanks for this website. I am a Reiki II. I was originally drawn to Reiki by going to a favorite bookstore, and to make a long story short could not see nor hear well briefly for an unknown reason. In this confusion, though it didn't upset me, I picked up a book and somehow managed to pay for it. I also picked up a business card I discovered later. After I left the bookstore, I could see and hear as good as always. The book was a Reiki book, and the business card was a practitioner. I knew what I had to do. So I sought out a Master to attune me. Then, I slowly met others in the small town I lived in that had become Reiki people too. Then, my family was transferred to another small town. We've been here for over a year, and it is difficult to get support. I even at times have difficulty feeling the Reiki flow through me. The nearest support I know of is over an hour's drive. Which, I take advantage of when I can, but sometimes that's easier said than done. So recently we acquired a computer, and so I started surfing. I wound up here, and my heart is singing again! Global community of Reiki people! The articles I have read have been amazingly personal to me. So much of what I want to know more about, and things I intuitively seek appear. Your heart seems to ring so true to me. You seem to be so open to the Divine guidance. I plan on contributing to this community (and benefiting from it), and to the rest of the world that asks for Reiki. Thanks for the encouragement just by being there. Holly Brix, Shenandoah, Iowa Dear Mr. Rand: May I begin by saying how I look forward to receiving your monthly newssheet, it really does contain some super articles as well as answering so many of the questions I have. I am as of two months at level 2 and daily marvel at the wonder that is Reiki. My only bone of contention is the mixing of Reiki with other healing methods such as massage or aromatherapy. I first found Reiki whilst in Canada and thought it magical, two years later back home here in Paraguay I received my level 1 attunement and discovered pure Reiki which to me is on a far higher spiritual plane to that which I had experienced in Manitoba. My first experience was a mixture of Reiki and reflexology and although very good, I now feel I was defrauded of a real spiritual experience. If using Reiki with other methods I feel one should say so and not claim to be doing Reiki. I would love to hear other people’s views of my comments and, I for one shall always strive to keep Reiki as pure as I can. Terry McGahan Dear William, Hello. I am a new recipient of Reiki energy. I am very excited. I recently took the Reiki 1 and 2 courses in Queens, NY with Carlos Gonzalez, and would like to take this opportunity to thank you for helping spread the work and light of Reiki. I feel so blessed to have the ability to join in now. Everyday holds new promise for God's light and love to shine through me and touch others. It is truly a wonderous, joyful feeling. In light and love, Eva Martin Reiki, Cancer And Chemo Hello again. I wanted to add a lovely postscript to my months of Reiki work on my friend, Nancy. She got the test results back today...she will live, the "terminal" diagnosis is no longer in effect. Her liver function is almost back to normal, and she will have four more chemo sessions, another test and if entirely free of all traces of cancer, two more "for good measure" chemo sessions. I am in awe. She was nearly dead, with only a few weeks to live when we started Reiki on her. Another friend who is a nurse said she had never seen anyone react so well to chemo. Thank you, Reiki.
