Inside the plane: We had to carry extra fuel which was pumped into the fuel tank after we landed on the Arctic ice on the way to the Pole. Another plane had created an additional fuel cashe on the ice for refueling which we used on the way back. From Eureka, it took 16 hours of air time to go to and return from the Pole. |
