Inside
the plane: We had to carry extra fuel which was pumped into
the fuel tank after we landed on the Arctic ice on the way
to the Pole. Another plane had created an additional fuel
cashe on the ice for refueling which we used on the way
back. From Eureka, it took 16 hours of air time to go to
and return from the Pole.
